Learn How To Play Folk / Celtic Acoustic Chord Progressions

Click here to watch videoHey Bharath,

This chord progression is a little different because I use an intervallic concept to achieve the sequence ...

... instead of relying on a key for all my chords.

I’m also making use of the 3rd in the bass on the last chord.

If you’re familiar with intervals there is an easy way to analyze and remember this sequence: minor 3rd - Perfect 5th - Perfect 5th.

I think you’ll find this progression to have a fresh sound that’s a lot of fun to play!

Example 1:

  Asus2    Cmaj7    Gadd9    D/F#
E |-0--------0---------------------|
B |-0--------0--------0--—-----3---|
G |-2--------0--------2--------2---|
D |-2--------2--------0--------0---|
A |-0--------3---------------------|
E |-------------------3--------2---|

Example 2:

    D      Fmaj7      C      G/B
E |-2--------0--------0-----------|
B |-3--------1--------1--—-----3--|
G |-2--------2--------0--------0--|
D |-0--------3--------2--------0--|
A |-------------------3--------2--|
E |-------------- -----------------|
