Intel Slips New Atom Processors Quietly in Line

Intel has slid some new Atom processors quietly into its lineup. The company did so with no fanfare and there are four power sipping parts total. Two parts are for desktops and two are for notebooks. The chips included the Atom D2500, D2700, N2600, and N2800. The power miserly processors should be good for mobile devices.

Archos Rolls Out Firmware Update For Its G9 Tablets

Archos has announced that it will be rolling out a new update for its new G9 tablets this week. The update will be rolled out to both the Archos 80 G9 which launched very recently for $300 and the Archos 101 G9 tablet which is still yet to be released.

The new update with bring with it pre-loaded Google Talk, higher quality pictures in high and low light conditions and hardware acceleration for Adobe Flash. As well as fixing a number of bugs and tweaking the stability of the system in general.

Samsung Galaxy Note Hits The UK November 17th

We had heard previously that Samsung would launch the new Galaxy Note here in the UK some time in November, its now official and Samsung has confirmed the UK launch date of the Samsung Galaxy Note as the 17th of November 2011.

The Samsung Galaxy note features a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, and it comes with runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Samsung has added another all in one PC to its range with the launch of the Samsung Series 7 all in one PC, which features a 23 inch HD LED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

Processing comes in the for of either an Intel Core i3 or Intel Core i5 processor and there is up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, plus up to 1TB of storage and Intel HD graphics.

An innovative concept camera design has been created by French designer Charlie Nghiem which has no buttons to navigate its features with but uses a stack of dials positioned on the right hand side to allow you to select the modes and features you would like to use.

When you spin any dial a settings menu appears on the LCD display screen on the back of the camera, providing easy reference and selection. The dial stack also provides an easy visual key so you can easily see exactly which modes you are using at any given time.

It would appear that Microsoft may have inadvertently leaked the names of some new Windows Phone 7 Mango smartphones, according to a recent report, and one of those device is called the Samsung Wembley

Unfortunately we don’t have any photos of the Samsung Wembley, but according to the guys over at Pocket Now the Samsung Wembley will feature a 3.7 inch Super AMOLED WVGA multi-touch touchscreen display.

Facebook Delays Public Timeline Launch (video)

Following on from the introduction of its new Facebook Timeline feature late last month a Chicago company called Timelines.com has claimed that the new Facebook Timeline service will threaten their business and possible force them to close, and has now engaged in to legal proceeding against Facebook.

However Judge Edmond Chang has refused to grant Timelines.com a temporary restraining order on Facebook and declined to stop Facebook users signing up for the new feature through Facebook’s developer program. Which has already seen nearly 1.1 million Facebook users signup to the new feature, with 100,000 to 200,000 more signing on every day.

Spotify Enables Radio Feature For US Customers

Spotify has finally rolled out the Spotify radio feature to its US customers this week. The feature which has been available in the UK and Europe for some time provides a custom way of creating playlists similar to that of listening to a radio broadcast, but didn’t roll out in the US when Spotify arrived two months a ago.

Spotify has now corrected the issue and US customers can now use the radio feature just like other worldwide users. However just like other users you can only use the feature on the desktop client and not within mobile applications.

Sonnet has unveiled a new storage solution they have added to their range in the form of the new Fusion F2QR drive which provides a small portable drive supporting RAID measuring 5.9 x 6.1 x 0.95 inches.

NEC Demos Android Based Notebook Prototype

NEC in demoed a new notebook prototype in Japan which runs Google’s Android OS, although no details were given on which version of Android was being run on the notebook.

The prototype notebook is know as the NEC MGS and it features a 7 inch OLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, and also comes with HSUPA and WiFi connections.

If you are looking forward to playing the highly anticipated new Forza 4 racing game which launches today, this new demo showing a little of the damage you can cause will whet your appetite a little more until you get your own copy.

The video shows what happens when you travel the wrong way around the circuit in a BMW F10 M5 and also provides a little insight in to the sound effects of crashes which are a lot more creative, that those included in GT5, who’s crash sound effects are a little weak to say the least.

Mozilla Developing Gladius 3D Gaming Engine

Mozilla has unveiled its new Paladin project which has been started to push 3D gaming on the web and bring 3D gaming to your web browser. The Paladin project team is currently building a new 3D gaming engine called Gladius and a new game called RescueFox to test the games engine before release.

Mozilla explains their new Paladin project as sitting at the intersection of 3D gaming, JavaScript framework and library development, and the browser.

BT Suffers Major Broadband Outage In The UK (Updated)

The UK’s largest provider of broadband here in the UK, British Telecom (BT) has suffered a major broadband outage throughout the UK, with thousands of users around the UK being unable to to connect to the Internet.

It would appear that the outage is widespread across the UK with reports coming in from major UK cities that both BT’s business broadband and home broadband is down.

We have already seen some leaked photos of the new iPhone 4S, as well as some detail of its existence found in the latest version of iTunes, now a major mobile carrier has listed the iPhone 4S on their website.

Vodafone Germany has listed the iPhone 4S on their website, and what is interesting is that along with 16GB and 32GB models of the iPhone 4S they have also listed a 64GB model of the iPhone 4S.

It looks like Virgin Mobile in the US will have a couple of new Android smartphones, one of those is the new LG Optimus Slider which we heard about recently, and it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Bolshoi Universe Simulation Is The Most Accurate Ever Created (video)

Researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz have used a NASA super computer to build the most accurate universe simulation ever created. The Bolshoi Universe Simulation is currently the most accurate cosmological simulation of the evolution of the large-scale structure of the universe and took four years to create and 6 million cpu hours to run on the Pleiades supercomputer.

Google Nexus Prime Concept Design Looks Amazing

We know that the next Android smartphone from Google, will be the Google Nexus Prime, which is being made by Samsung for Google, and we have already heard some of the specifications on the Google Nexus Prime.

The Google Nexus Prime is rumored to feature a dual core TI OMAP 4460 processor, plus a 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 2 megapixel camera on the front for video chat, we don’t as yet have any official pictures of the Nexus Prime, but these concepts look amazing.

We have already seen some leaked photos of two new Motorola Xoom tablets, which are rumored to be the new Motorola Xoom 2 tablet, and now evidence of the two devices has turned up in Verizon’s inventory.

Battlefield 3 will includes a brand new feature called Battlelog that has been designed to enable you to track your progress and that of your friends. Battlelog is the stats tracking and social service of Battlefield 3 which includes mobile apps, with Facebook-like features, forums, and much more.

Samsung Galaxy Note Appears At FCC, Headed To AT&T

When Samsung officially announced the new Samsung Galaxy Note, there was some confusion on whether it would be headed to the US, and now it looks like it may be headed to US mobile carrier AT&T.

The Samsung Galaxy Note has recently received FCC approval, and it would appear that the model tested by the FCC is compatible with AT&T’s 4G network, it is due to launch in the UK later this month so we should see it in the US shortly afterwards.

Nokia Ace Windows Phone Smartphone With 4.3 Inch AMOLED Display Rumored

We are expecting Nokia to release their first Windows Phone 7 smartphone at Nokia World 2011, which takes place later this month, but now it would appear that we may also see a few other Nokia Windows Phone 7 devices at the same time.

According to a recent report, one of those is called the Nokia Ace and it will apparently come with a 4.3 inch AMOLED display and will feature Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.

Are you looking for something a little more environmentally friendly to travel around on? If you are this very innovative T20 Bamboo Electric Scooter might be just the solution. The ‘T20′ bamboo electric bike is a prototype by french designer Antoine Fritsch and is constructed from bamboo, together with cork, steel, aluminium and rubber.

Under the footrest Fritsch has incorporated a small electric motor that can reach a cruising speed of 35 km/hr (21.7 mph) for a range of about 40 km/hr (24.8 mph). The design works in a similar way to a children’s scooter, in that you have to push the scooter along to reach a cruising speed after which the electric motor will then be able to start providing power.

HTC Flyer Android Tablet Dropped To $299

With the announcement of Amazon’s $199 Kindle Fire Android tablet last week, we are expecting to see some existing Android tablets get a price drop, the first one of those is HTC’s Flyer tablet which went on sale back in May for $499.99, and Best Buy have now dropped its price to $299.99.

This week Ubuntu has released a new version of its Ubuntu One storage application for Windows. A little strange you might think? Ubuntu explain the reason why they have created the new Windows client application is in response to user requests and their goal to make Ubuntu One a a multi-platform service.

Google Maps Gets New Helicopter View

This week Google has launched a new update for its Google Maps service which has brought with it a new helicopter view, which shows you a birds eye view of your route. The new 3D preview feature as Google calls it provides you with an aerial view of the route, as if you were in a helicopter or bird flying above the road.

You can now view your routes before you travel them and even just fly around to explore ares. To enter the new mode just click on the "3D" play button. The map will then switch to Earth view and automatically start flying you along your recommended route.

Some HTC Android Smartphones May Have Massive Security Hole

It would appear that some of HTC’s Android smartphones may have a major security hole, according to a recent report by Trevor Eckhart and the guys over at Android Police.

According to the report, the security hole may be in certain HTC devices which have been updated to the latest version of HTC’s Sense user interface, and could grant apps with Internet permission access to your private data like text messages and location information.

Apple’s annual iPhone event is almost upon us, tomorrow Apple will unveil the new iPhone 5 along with the iPhone 4S, and now more evidence of the existence of the iPhone 4S has been discovered.

Yesterday we showed you some photos of the iPhone 4S, which were obtained from inside Foxconn’s factory in Brazil, and now references to the new iPhone 4S have been found in the latest version of Apple’s iTunes.

50/50 Savings Bank Puts Fresh Spin On Saving Dimes And Pennies
