Either that, or it’s just a bit of professional courtesy from the grizzled old veteran to the spunky new wannabe. ”I think there are still some areas where, as a customer, I’d like to see it improve. It’s not that different from any other system like this. There are positive things and negative things,” he said in a PC Gamer interview. Also, if your entire collection of games is on Steam, you’re going to smile at this next one. And by smile we mean punch a wall.

| PS Vita 3G Downloads Limited To 20 MB Posted: 30 Sep 2011 12:16 PM PDT We weren’t expecting Sony to go all Amazon and provide free unlimited 3G service for their beefy new handheld, but the revelation that there will be a 20 MB limitation on 3G downloads of any kind did come as a bit of a disappointment. Mind you, this is exactly the same as the iOS App Store 3G limitation, but the difference is you won’t be using that 20 MB to get any full games downloaded to your device. Unless the games in question are Minis, but that would be predicated on people finding out they exist and braving Sony’s attempt at a digital store to actually buy them.

| Tango Video Calling Service Arrives On PC (video) Posted: 30 Sep 2011 05:32 AM PDT Tango the mobile video calling app which launched back on iOS and Android devices a year ago and surpassed one million registrations in its first 10 days. Has today announced the launch of a new PC version they have developed bringing Tango to PC desktop computers supporting XP, Vista and Windows 7. A Mac desktop version is also under development but Tango didn’t reveal any timescales for its release. The new PC app keeps the same look and feel as the Tango app for mobile devices and once you have installed and enter your email and phone number the Tango PC app will automatically populate your address book with your Tango contacts, if you are an existing Tango user. The new Dell XPS 14z is a smaller 14 inch 1366×768 HD LED display model which has already been showcased at the IFA 2011 in Berlin earlier this year. | Microsoft Unveils New Office Web App Features Posted: 30 Sep 2011 03:46 AM PDT Yesterday Microsoft announced a number of new features which it has now included within it Office Web Apps service. The new features have been created and added using customer feedback, explains Microsoft in its blog post. The new features include Pen input for OneNote, Excel Merge-Autofit support, direct printing from Excel, and right-click menus in Excel, to name just a few. As from today the OneNote Web App now displays ink , together with enhanced cell formatting in Microsoft’s Excel Web App. Together with the ability to merge cells, and to automatically fit cell sizes based on the content the cells. As well as support for printing directly from within the Excel web app even when accessing documents from your Skydrive.

| Apple Crushes Psystar’s Hackintosh Court Appeal Posted: 30 Sep 2011 03:32 AM PDT You might remember a few years ago a company called Psystar got into hot water with Apple after building and selling Hackintosh (Mac Clones) systems complete with MAC OS X software. Apple filed a suit against the company back in 2008 and a Federal judge then banned Psystar from copying, selling, distributing, or offering to sells Mac OS X without Apple's permission, although the injunction didn't specifically name Psystar's Rebel EFI software which lets you install Mac OS X on a PC.

| Sharp Shows Off 60 Inch 4K LCD TV, Launching In 2012 Posted: 30 Sep 2011 03:31 AM PDT Sharp has shown off a new 60 inch TV which comes with a 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, and Sharp will be displaying this new 4K LCD TV at this years CEATEC 2011 Exhibition, which takes place next week in Tokyo, Japan. This new 4k 60 inch LCD TV will go on sale in 2012, and it has been developed in partnership with the I3 (I-cubed) Research Center in Kawasaki, and we will get more details about its specifications next week.

| Samsung Offers Apple A Deal In Patent Suit Posted: 30 Sep 2011 03:23 AM PDT Apple and Samsung are in the process of a number of different legal battles, Apple is suing Samsung in Australia relating to Patents to do with he iPhone and iPad, yesterday we heard that Apple’s ex CEO Steve Jobs reached out to Samsung last year before Apple took legal action against Samsung. Now it would appear that Samsung has offered Apple a deal of some sort with regards to the patent lawsuit in Australia, and Apple are apparently considering whether or not to accept the deal.

| Team Fortress Arcade Indie Game Now Available To Download (video) Posted: 30 Sep 2011 03:16 AM PDT You might remember back in July we featured the development of the retro indie Team Fortress Arcade game being created by Eric Ruth. The arcade version of Team Fortress 2 developed by Ruth is now finished, and comes complete with characters and themes and is a wonderful throw back to the early era of side scrolling gaming. Yesterday we heard about Samsung’s latest dual core 1.5GH Exynos Processor, and now we have this new 16 megapixel sensor, so we can expect some exciting new smartphones from Samsung in their galaxy range in the not too distant future.

| Huawei MediaPad Tablet Coming To T-Mobile In The US Posted: 30 Sep 2011 02:52 AM PDT The new Huawei MediaPad which was officially launched last week and will be arriving in stores before the end of the year. Has now been confirmed to be arriving on the T-Mobile network in the US. Its expected that T-Mobile will rebrand the 4G tablet before it lands in the US and it will be available for around $200 when you signup for a two year contract. But this is only speculation and has not been officially confirmed by T-Mobile as yet.

| Android Now Makes Up 44 Percent Of New Smartphone Purchases In The UK Posted: 30 Sep 2011 02:44 AM PDT Earlier in the week analysts Nielsen released some new figures relating to the share of the smartphone market by operating system, with Android at the top with a 43 percent share. Now Nielsen has released some figures for the UK smartphone market, and according to the report, over the last six months, Google’s Android OS made up 44 percent of all new smartphone purchases here in the UK.

We had previously heard that the 10 inch Kindle Fire tablet would launch in the early part of 2012, but now according to a recent report we may actually see the 10 inch model before the end of 2011.

| Apple’s MobileMe Service Having Problems Ahead Of iCloud Launch Posted: 30 Sep 2011 01:57 AM PDT Apple is expected to launch it new iCloud service next week at its iPhone 5 event which will take place next Tuesday on the 4th of October, the service will replace Apple’s current MobileMe cloud service. Now a number of users are reporting problems with MobileMe, and I just checked my MobileMe email account and it is showing as currently unavailable on both my iPhone and the web version of MobileMe, and I am getting a message saying that my password and user name is incorrect on my iPhone, when I haven’t changed anything.

The new beta is available for download now and supports Windows, Mac and Linux systems. The latest Firefox 8 beta release includes Twitter as a default search option to make searching #hashtags and @usernames easier. You can also now choose to load tabs only when selected, resulting in faster start-up times when windows with lots of tabs are restored.

| HTC Holiday Turns Up At The FCC Posted: 30 Sep 2011 01:33 AM PDT We recently saw some photos of the new HTC Holiday, which you can see below, and now HTC’s latest Android device has turned up at the FCC, which could mean that we will see it launch shortly. What we know so far about the HTC Holiday is that it is expected to come with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and it will be available with mobile carrier AT&T in the US and will be a 4G LTE device.

The Kobo Vox will come with a 7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600, and it will run Google’s Android OS, although there are no details as to which version of Android it will run.

| Fan Made iPhone 5 Design Prototype Is Awesome Posted: 30 Sep 2011 12:17 AM PDT We have already seen some amazing iPhone 5 design concepts, but the guys over at Benm.at and Giga.de decided to take things a step further and actually created their own iPhone 5 prototype. This cool iPhone 5 Prototype is based on CAD Designs, leaks, and hardware components, they created a 3D computer model and then they built a very details prototype of the iPhone 4 which looks like it could have come from Apple.

| iPhone 5 Cases Appear At AT&T Stores Posted: 30 Sep 2011 12:06 AM PDT Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 5 at next weeks special event on Tuesday the 4th of October, we have already seen a wide range of cases which are supposed to be for the new iPhone 5, including some from Case Mate. Now according to the guys over at Mac Rumors, AT&T retail stores have already started receiving cases for the new iPhone 5, and as you can see from the photos below, they point to a new slimmer design that we have heard about previously.
