If you're new to riding ATVs and going Offroading there might be a few terms you don't know about. I've started a Glossary of Terms related to ATVs /Offroading to help you with some of the common meanings for terms. If there's a term you would like to see here simply reply to this email and ask!

Definition of the Term 4x4
The term 4x4 seems pretty clear, right? 4 wheels, all turning, right? Yeah, pretty much. But that's not all. There is some logic at work here. Read more.

Definition of the Term ATV
The term ATV means All Terrain Vehicle. It is not really made for "all" terrain, most particularly cement or black top. These vehicles were made to ride off road. Read more.

Definition of the Term Off Highway Vehicle (OHV)
And Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) is any vehicle that is designed to go offroad. If you've got a Jeep or TJ or Lada then you've got a street vehicle that is capable of off highway use, but not designed just for offroading. Read more.

Definition of the Term Hydrolock
Hydrolocking happens when you suck water into your engine. The result is that the engine breaks, literally locking up because an engine can't compress water like it can air. Read more.
