| TAG Heuer Mikrotimer Is The World’s Fastest Chronograph Watch (video) Posted: 28 Sep 2011 08:51 AM PDT TAG Heuer has created the worlds fastest chronograph watch which is capable of measuring out 1/1000ths of a second at 500 Hz. The new TAG Heuer Mikrotimer is equipped with a small balance wheel inside which goes back and forth 3.6 million times an hour. To put that in perspective when you compare this to a Rolex watch who’s balance wheel goes back and forth around 28,800 beats per hour, you can easily see the difference in technology used to create the two watches. | Amazon Now Has More Than 1 Million Kindle Books Posted: 28 Sep 2011 08:05 AM PDT As well as announcing the new Amazon Kindle Fire tablet and the new Amazon Kindle Touch, Amazon also announced that their Kindle book store now has more than 1 million Kindle books available to download. When the Amazon Kindle Book store launched four years ago, Amazon only had a total of 90,000 books available, and now they have over 1 million which doesn’t include any copyright free texts.

| Awesome Thunderpants Headphones Created By Modifying Fostex T50RPs (video) Posted: 28 Sep 2011 07:34 AM PDT If you haven’t already heard about Thunderpants headphones, they are a pair of custom built headphones created using a pair of Fostex T50RPs headphones as a base. The Thunderpants headphones currently has the audio community in a frenzy to get a hold of a pair as their sound quality after the modification is awesome and “measure with some of the finest in the world.” according to Jude over at the Head-Fi website. You can make the modification yourself using a kit but audio community member named Smeggy who originally created the headphones has been transforming the $75 Fostex T50RPs into $550 Thunderpants headphones for sometime. The Amazon Kindle Touch comes with a new feature called X-Ray, and what this does is show you information about the book you are reading from external sources like Wikipedia.

| iFixit Dismantles Apple’s Thunderbolt Display Posted: 28 Sep 2011 07:08 AM PDT The iFixit team has been busy once again with their screwdrivers and have this time dismantled Apple’s new 27″ inch Thunderbolt display exposing its technology to the world. For a recap the new Apple Thunderbolt Display is equipped with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 with 16:9 Widescreen Aspect Ratio and is equipped with a FaceTime HD Camera with Microphone and 49 Watt 2.1 Speaker System. The main thing that has surprised iFixit and us is the sheer amount of technology that is packed into the Apple Display and the number of chips included. iFixit uses the technical term “oodles of chips”.

| Samsung Will Pay Microsoft Patent Fee For Every Android Device It Sells Posted: 28 Sep 2011 06:30 AM PDT It looks like Microsoft has signed another patent deal with a major Android smartphone maker, we previously heard that Microsoft and HTC had agreed a deal where HTC would pay Microsoft a license fee for every Android device it sells. Now it is the turn of Samsung, who have agreed to pay Microsoft a license fee on every Android device they sell, and considering that the company recently announced that they had sold over 10 million Galaxy S II smartphones worldwide, this should be a fair amount of cash for Microsoft.

| Huge Lightsaber Battle Breaks Out In New York City (video) Posted: 28 Sep 2011 05:47 AM PDT This week a huge Lightsaber battle took place between good and evil in New York’s Washington Square Park on September 24, 2011. Where nearly 1,000 people battled it out in what must be one of the biggest Lightsaber battles ever. The event was organised by Kevin Bracken and people made a great effort by dressing up as as Jedi Masters, Sith Lords and even the odd zombie for the event. Unfortunately the Tweet didn’t give too much away on what will be included in the update it did reveal that the new GT5 Spec 2.0 update will be arriving in the third week of October. The Air Voltage case and dock use induction charging technology to provide your iPad 2 with 10W or power enabling you to charge your iPad 2 from flat to full in around 3 hours. Your iPad can either be positioned horizontally or vertically and can be used as its charged.

The new Hitachi HD smartphone display measures 4.5 inches and it features a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and according to Hitachi it features a 329ppi.

| Jeb Corliss Flies Through Chinese Mountain With Wingsuit (Video) Posted: 28 Sep 2011 04:42 AM PDT Some of our readers will remember stuntman Jeb Corliss and his Wingsuit, his latest crazy stunt also involves the Wingsuit, a parachute, and a GoPro hero video camera, and this time he decided to fly through a hole in a Chinese mountain. The video below shows Corliss flying through a hole in Tianmen mountain, Hunan Province, in China, and he jumped out of a helicopter at 6,000 feet and then glided towards the mountain.

| MeeGo Replaced By Tizen Linux Based Mobile OS Posted: 28 Sep 2011 04:12 AM PDT Even before the MeeGo mobile operating system had a chance to establish its self it has already been scrapped and will be replaced by a new Linux-based platform, Tizen. Only yesterday we reported that the new Nokia N9 powered by the now extinct MeeGo mobile OS, had started shipping to some countries. Today Intel announced the news that MeeGo will no longer be developed and has joined Linux Foundation and LiMo Foundation in support of the new Linux based mobile OS Tizen. Which is expected to start appearing on devices in the first quarter of 2012.

| Full Size Ford Explorer Made Using 382,00 Lego Bricks (Video) Posted: 28 Sep 2011 04:01 AM PDT We love anything to do with Lego here at Geeky Gadgets, and the latest cool Lego creation is a full sized Lego model of a 2012 Ford Explorer, which was made in Legoland Florida. The video below shows it being made, and it took a total of 382,858 Lego bricks, and 22 Legoland workers, 2,500 hours to complete.

By shutting down the huge Kelihos Botnet which was responsible for delivering around four million spam email messages every day. | Posted: 28 Sep 2011 02:57 AM PDT Mario Lukas has created a very unique type of printer that uses toilet rolls for its printing paper rather than traditional A4 sheets. Lukas created the unique printer as an entry into a hardware hacking contest “Mach flott den Schrott” run by German technology magazine c't. Lukas build his Toilet Paper Printer using old printer parts and has even equipped it with an Ethernet port to control exactly what you would like to print. Its primarily been designed to print Tweets and Facebook posts but can also be used to print RSS feeds as well. Replacement toilet rolls can be added by opening the left side of the printer. | Lionsgate Buys Dead Island Game Movie Rights (video) Posted: 28 Sep 2011 02:25 AM PDT Lionsgate have announced today that they have now purchased the movie rights for the new Dead Island video game that was recently launched. Lionsgate say they will be using the original haunting trailer as the basis for their new film which is now currently under development. When first released back in February the trailer won a number of industry awards, including a Golden Lion at Cannes. | Batman Arkham City Hands On: Batman Fights Like A Girl Posted: 27 Sep 2011 04:12 PM PDT Starting out the Arkham City demo by giving you control over Catwoman was the first shrewd move Rocksteady made. Padding out that leather suit with a downright distracting amount of simulated badonkadonk would be the second. But you need to get up pretty early in the morning to pull the wool over our eyes. There was no way we weren't going to notice that there wasn't much of a difference between Batman and Catwoman's combat mechanics. On the plus side, there was no way were going to care, either.
