What About 13th Chords?

Click here to watch videoHey Bharath,

The main varieties of 13th's you're likely to come across are dominant and major 13th's.

As you have probably guessed, these are very rich harmonies that add a lot of spice to a chord.

Again, the 9th is not needed to produce a full 13th chord but you do need the 7th.

Below are a few shapes that I use quite often.

    G13      D13      Gmaj13   Dmaj13
E |------------7------------------7-------|
B |--5---------5---------5---------7------
|
G |--4---------5---------4--------6---
----|
D |--3---------4---------4--------7-------
|
A |------------5------------------5-------
|
E |--3-------------------3------------
